Projector support
I can now say I have a projector gaming table and I am using Maptool, I must ask though, is the dual screen view rather then two clients in the 1.3 development schedule? or 1.4?

Absolutely, It's just another view onto the map.dontadow wrote:Will this projector mode be compatible with lanning. I do a projector game, but my players have started liking bringing their own laptops and logging into the game, only half the table has laptops thus we still use the projector as the main view.

1) Try to link it to a business venture... maybe the responsibility you show in trying to draw up a business plan or get ahead at work or whatever will blind her to your true wishes.
2) Figure out how to link it up so you can play "How do I look?" really large so you can see even better how the leopard print top doesn't go with the plaid skirt and ug boots.

We use a conference room in the office every 2 weeks! I have my laptop in dual-view mode.
Screen 1: Dm's Maptool, DM Genie.
Screen to (projected): Player's maptool
The I have 1 player also on a laptop connected to Maptool as a player and he controls player movements for everyone (when he's paying attention ).
Works very well for us. Oh, I purchased laser-pointers for each player ($2 at Petsmart!!!) to point at the screen. We no longer use a mirror to project down at the table-top.
Lasers work great and everyone's happy! People also like when we bring up the saved map two weeks later and see all the dead and spell templates from the last game! "We did that!" Reminds me of the Ghostbuster's first job in the hotel. Destroy everything that can be destroyed.

It takes a village to raise a child, but it takes a Viking to raze a village.
We had our first table projection session last friday. It went great! We had the projector mounted on top of a big tripod and projected the image onto the table. We use mini's for the players and for the monsters. We use tokens in MT if we dont have the specific mini.
I did not use a server and a second client session on the laptop, but instead i use the player view. If i had to remove a piece of the vision layer, i freezed the projector image (nice button on the remote control!) and switched to the DM screen on my laptop. After the adjustments i went back to the player screen and unfreezed the projector. I made a map of the Malachite Fortress / Shackled City in MT (any others that have maps btw?) and all went well. Players loved it.
I will try to make some photo's at the next session and try to get them up here.
MT works great this way. Once more, thanks Trevor/others/community!
