What file are the MapTool Preferences saved in?

Hi all,

I got myself into a bit of a pickle with the MapTool Preferences and I'm hoping you can help me. What happened is I changed the "Enable OpenGL Pipeline" setting in the MapTool Preferences (v1.6.1), and this is now causing some problematic behavior. The tricky part is: because of that behavior, I find myself unable to re-enter the MapTool Preferences and undo my setting.

I'll go into the specifics of what behavior I'm getting further down in the post. But first I'd like to focus on what I need from you, which is:

Can anyone tell me if and how I can manipulate the MapTool Preferences from outside the tool?
Is there a config file or a registry entry or something else I can edit? Or, if that is not an option, is there a way to get rid of the MapTool Preferences on my computer so that I get the default preferences when I re-install MapTool?

Here's what I tried already:

- I searched the MapToolDoc Wiki, this forum and plain old Google for any clues but couldn't find any.
- I looked through my MapTool installation folder and the MapTool Data Directory (".maptool-rptools" in my user files) but couldn't identify any such file.
- I uninstalled MapTool v1.6.1 and re-installed it, but I'm still getting the same behavior.
- I uninstalled MapTool v1.6.1 and then installed MapTool v1.5.14, but I'm still getting the same behavior.
- I uninstalled MapTool, opened RegEdit, searched for any entry that contains the word "maptool", deleted it, then re-installed Maptool - but again I'm getting the same behavior.

So I'm kind of hitting a dead end because at this point I have no idea how to get MapTool v1.6.1 working again. The preferences don't seem to be stored in the installion folder or the data directory. And if they're in the registry, I don't know how to find them.

By the way: I still have an old MapTool v1.3.b91 folder on my system. This is the version that I have been using until recently (before I started playing around with v1.6.1). That old version still works and seems to be completely unaffected by what I'm doing with v1.6.1. So there's always the option for me to just stick with v1.3.b91 but of course I'd like to update to a newer version if possible.

Here's the behavior I'm getting since enabling the OpenGL Pipeline:

Ever since I enabled the checkbox and closed MapTool, all I'm getting when I start MapTool is a blank window. See attached screenshot.

Everything is blank except for the window titles. I can still interact with the window though. For example, when I try to close the application, I will get the usual "Save Campaign" popup. I can then hit Right Arrow + Enter on my keyboard and the application will close. But as I said, everything is blank.

And yes, I'm fairly certain that this behavior is caused by the OpenGL Pipeline setting because that was about the only thing I changed before closing and restarting MapTool.

Here's some details about my system:

OS: Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit
GPU: AMD Radeon R9 390 (drivers are up to date).
MapTool version: as stated above, problem occurs with v1.6.1 and v1.5.14 probably most other newer versions as well

Please let me know if you need any more info from me. And thanks in advance for any tipps you can give me.

Thank you! I edited jvmuserargs.cfg and that solved it.

Looks like I was looking in all the wrong places. :D
