On a Windows 10 machine, what's the best procedure to upgrade MapTool and keep your settings? Running the uninstall for the previous version seems to nuke registry settings and maptool.cfg file. Can't install one over the other. I can install parallel versions, but still can't uninstall the old version without nuking the registry (global macros.)
Edit: Actually removing previous version doesn't nuke registry. So just back up maptool.cfg and uninstall, reinstall.

Re: Upgrade procedure
Correct.
I would not do this. The format of the cfg file can change between versions. So just back up maptool.cfg and uninstall, reinstall.

Re: Upgrade procedure
Noted. Would be nice to be able to upgrade smoothly without mucking around resetting the memory settings and direct3d flag every time.

Re: Upgrade procedure
I agree.
You can show some support for making the the d3d flag off by default here: https://github.com/RPTools/maptool/issues/2982
As for the having to edit the memory settings manually... you might need to wait for java to fix that... or press for some alternative and see what the devs come up with. Feedback on discord and github seems to get more notice these days.
