Just wanted to mention that it is Hero as in Hero System not Heroes. Just wanted to mention it to avoid confusion.

I love the wound system you have suggested.I don't think it needs much modification at all. Some people suggested to make it a little simpler.I concur.The only thing I suggest is that the healing surge cannot be regained until you recover the wound.Other than that I don't think you should ever give the characters a permanent injury.They will hate you forever and want the character to die so they can make a new one.Someone suggested that you always take at least one damage,even if you take a wound. That just makes it more complicated,so I wouldn't bother.
