Art was still tired when he met up with the team for a working dinner. He was also very hungry and ordered a good meal before the team reported what they had found. The team waited for Aku to turn on his white noise generator before beginning.

Art was less happy once Aku had finished summarizing what the hacker had found. Two entrances were ok but the bulkhead and the separation of the security system from the matrix would likely cut the hacker from acting remotely on the deal. Art smirked when Bourne told Aku to tell the hacker he had to go in.

The team bandied around various approaches including: two team infiltration; crossing the fence as one team; hijacking the delivery truck and going in that way; using the back door; trying the vent system; and going in the front door. Other options included a decoy team; hiring support muscle; using one group to penetrate and the technos/drones as decoys or support. The team didn't slect an option but discussed them.

Bourne and John next discussed team wish lists for shopping including explosives, assault rifles, ammunition; armor; stealth suits; and other specialty gear.

Art asked about ways to cut the site from the matrix and outside support. Aku asked for some planning time on that issue. Art asked everyone to have their list within 24 hours.

Art then asked if anyone else had any questions on the job or if they can go ahead and commit. Anyone want to hit the other warehouse or the HQ?

Arrow is looking to pick up 2 new fake ID via Art's contact, one high quality 5-6 range if possible, and one somewhere around 3-4.

I think tonight will include:

a) Taking the job;

b) Shopping for gear and identities;

c) Trolling for intermission jobs to get Karma and bloody the new guys; and

d) Leaving planning final assault for later.

Art felt creeped out. Maybe it was the prodigious amount of plastic explosives that he just arranged for John and Bourne to obtain or maybe it was the feeling that the Dwarf Johnson was setting them up for a fall or maybe it was the fact that within hours his crew and he would have two major corporations angry at them for taking on jobs against them. Oh well, noone said life was easy. He sang to himself: "There is no rest for the wicked, nuyen don't grow on trees, I got bills to pay and mouths to feed..."

Art quickly returned to the present as his date was returning from the bathroom and the waiter was approaching to take their order. She looked great in the dress she borrowed from a friend. Bourne certainly knows how to get a reservation at a great place. Too bad he couldn't use the reservation. Explosives must be more important than Ork women to him. Art's taste was more towards Elven women like his date.

The food was great and so too was the company Art thought. As the conversation paused for the courses, Art reviewed the Ares hit in his head. The Dwarf Johnson had admitted that his runner team had bitten off more than they could chew. A double composition Ares convoy needed its escorts thinned before their hit could occur.

The team came up with a good plan thought Art. They would produce a "failed hit" scenario in which one of the escort vehicles would be scragged along with a large amount of debris to take care of any outriders on vehicles but not damage the transports or the other escort vehicle. Drones filled with plastic explosives would dive bomb the escort while pre-laid explosives would appear to fail and only create a dust cloud.

The Ares convoy would barrel through the "ambush" and leave the security team relatively ok from the damaged escort vehicle behind. The debris and smoke would obscur the site adding encouragement to the balance of the convoy to leave. A combat drone or two could appear to shoot up the "survivors" and add more encouragement for the convoy to leave. Once it left, the balance of the explosives and drones plus posisble magic support would finish off the survivors and the team would retreat to a pre-planned escape route or hidey-hole. The balance of the convoy would be left to the other team.

Art smiled at the plan and his date. He had arranged to follow up dinner with a carraige ride before the two of them made a quick stop to change for the dive bar phase of the date to listen to music. She was after all a fan of music and musicians and working in a bar...

Sorry you have to miss. Unfortunately, we may just be id deadly combat by 9:30 pm as much of the prep work is done. By my recollection we have:

1. Picked the ambush site;

2. Picked the plan as described above and hereafter: Kamikaze Drones with Earth Elemental backup to take out one of the two security vehicles while light explosives take out outriders and a delayed explosion to take out survivors with Earth Elemental backup;

3. Picked the escape route: I.e. Don't be nearby, damage from a distance, and have a hidey-hole;

4. Bought the supplies: Drones and Explosives;

5. And now have to execute...

And so, there they were, Sitting atop a cliffside, Aku's heart racing for, what was in all intents and purposes, aku's first real run with his new group. He was excited, because finally, after dwarf love squabbles, and the other "milk" runs they had, where he was essentially a chauffeur, their plan actually included him, and some of his (new) toys. He was waiting patiently to put them into the air for their first, and only mission, when they hear the sudden high pitched roar of motorcycle engines coming around the corner they're waiting at. Following them is the caravan of vehicles, drones, the transport vehicles one of which is two lanes wide and easily 100 feet long and armored to the tooth. And, squashed in amongst all that the tanks... wait, tanks, yes TANKS! "Oh Frak" Aku thought to himself, "We didnt pack enough explosives for this..." And so the caravan slowly rumbled along the road, as we formulated plan B (and i mean slowly, because it FELT like it took us an eon to come up with plan B...mental note, ALWAYS make plan B from now on.)

And so the road explosives went off, as originally planned, as i sat back, with nothing to do, under plan B. One cruiser motorcycle went flying through the air, apparently taking the direct blast of one of the charges, as do most of the drones on the point. The transport vehicle that was smaller was beaten but not out, and the tanks rolled through the dirt dust and debris like they were having wet noodles thrown at them. Before the dirt settled, an earth elemental (i think) manifested (i think) and caused the roadway at the vanguard of the pack to drop out, sending every vehicle behind the largest transport plummeting down the cliffside, if anyone in the tanks survived that tumble (unlikely) it would be quite a while before they would be able to rejoin with the rest of the remaining vehicles.

With our charge MORE than finishing, we hightailed it out of the area, only Arrow staying behind to follow the dwarves to see where they go, and what the Ares response is.

Art was tired, frustrated and worried. Adrenaline only gets you so far before sleep becomes a virtue. It has been a thrill ride of two weeks from gaining a new crew, to a delivery mission, to a missed mission involving a nano-bomb (dang musician cover obligations), to the EVO hire and recon, to the EVO warehouse raid, to the Dwarf Love mission, to the ARES hit, to the new ERASER mission...

The last hit was Saturday night. Art slept during the day and before and after the hit but it was never enough. Now it is Sunday night and the crew is following a gnome to introduce him to the benefits of a dirt nap. Art had spent the day on calls and meetings to secure some hardware for Bourne. He was not up to speed enough on the new mission as he would like other than 10k each, a Platinum DocWagon contract, and bodyguards.

Art had been working his contacts all day and shot a message to his corporate secretary friend to schedule a get together, partly for business and partly for fun. The new mission was for Bart, the forger. He want his competition to be erased or embarrissed. Erasure was easier than embarrissment so the crew chose erasure. But the DocWagon contract threw a wrench into the spokes.

Looking forward to the game. Don't know on what to spend my karma but have pooled all to date. Next session should start with trailing Mr. Gnome and returning him to his garden roots as follows:

"Art woke suddenly and almost drew his pistol. The van had stopped and Aku was looking at him along with the other crew members. Art asked for a location update and Aku pointed at the establishment on the corner and said we have tracked him here. John smiled as he said "showtime!" as part of the team prepared for the first step of the erasure, the on site security recon..."

The ST will fill in the rest but to my knowledge and correct me if I am wrong, the crew has done or is finishing up the following:

1) Research on the target in the matrix;

2) Identify the DocWagon frequency;

3) Track information and frequency to find target; and

4) Approach the target for a recon to finalize planning...

Mission Preparation:

I have been giving the final mission some thought. I suggest that every character have some of the following abilities and items:

1. Infiltration skill

2. Armor

3. Some sort of cloaking ability or technology.

4. Others to be determined by group discussion. This may include explosives, area effect weapons, fake ids, multiple comlinks, etc.

Feel free to add to list...

Getting a tacnet set up would be extremely nice even if we don't completely rely on it. Be useful for other things.

We should also plan on everyone being in full environmental gear. We might not decide not to gas the place, but that doesn't mean they won't.

Still think the possibility of having a quick extraction would be worth the cash (for example paying for having Thunderbird on standby). Yes it would be fairly expensive, but have to remember smugglers use them all the time for fast border crossings. Heck, dropping the Johnson off at a car, getting paid, and then having them take us to LA may not be a bad idea. Than a quick plane ride to somewhere else.....

Just remember on item 3. It is still based off of the perception and infiltration skills, and there are as many or more items that will increase perception as there are that increases stealth. Guess main point is that you folks shouldn't rely on it. For example regardless of what everyone does, John will have AT LEAST a 50% chance of being able to "see" them (believe the concealment spirit power is only thing that effects everything). And if he can why cannot the "bad" guys?

Need to also add the following: bound spirits 1-15, a pack or two of Dobermans, and a min of 2 steel lynxes (mount the mini guns on them).

Bringing down the mountain with a deadman switch might not be a bad idea either if worse comes to worse. Just make sure that the person with the switch is outside (give it to the hacker/decker). Though really how much damage can a F20 Powerball actually do????? This goes back and totally reemphasizes the main shadowrun rule "geek the mage first".
