2. palmer - Kava (Dragonborn Fighter)

Renwold:

Renwold is a small town in the free cities region, named for the presence of several large autonomous city-states. Renwold is situated on a trade route between the free cities of Torvald's Reach, a dwarven stronghold located in the mountains to the west, and White Harbor, a fairly large free port to the east. To the north of Renwold are a series of rugged mountains beyond which is a vast desert that separates the dragonborn empire of Nadarreth from the free cities. Fertile plains stretch out to the south of Renwold and beyond those lies a forested region.

Renwold itself is in a fertile area and most natives are involved in agriculture. Renwold is also half a day's journey from a ruined city and rising up from the center of the city is a tall, black tower. Due to its location, Renwold attracts mercenaries seeking employment as caravan guards and adventurers hoping to find fortune among the ruins. Locals are happy to take adventurers' money but largely think them foolish given how many others have already scoured the city.

People:
Lightbringer Ailea: Ailea is the chief cleric of the temple of Pelor of Renwold which serves as the hub of life in the village. There is a village council, but they look to Ailea for advice and generally follow her lead. She is the closest thing to a mayor in the village and takes charge whenever anything needs to be done. After the fey attack, she asked the party for help in tracking down the missing villagers and aid in turning back the faerie raiders.

Mathin Dwyer: Dwyer is a local merchant who operates a trading house and owns several warehouses in Renwold. He is well off by the standards of people in Renwold and, through his trading, has connections to people in Torvald's Reach and White Harbor. He hired the party (for 120 gp) to track down his missing son, Cade Dwyer, the blacksmith's missing son, Damon Huntsman, and his missing friend, the wizard Robert Fallow.

Bertrand and Steph Holm: Owner of the Silver Moon Inn and his daughter. They run the inn together. Emma Holm (Bertrand's wife) was killed in the initial faerie raids while the party was under his roof. While grieved, he was impressed with party's courage in fighting off the raiders and has guaranteed them a bed and food in his inn whenever they should need it.

Robert Fallow: missing wizard. A researcher for an arcane order who studied the spire.

Points of Interest:
The ruins and the spire: The ruins of what appears to have been a mighty city lie a half day's journey from Renwold. The city itself is overgrown and very few buildings remain standing. The city is dominated by a perfectly preserved immensely tall black spire. The surface is perfectly smooth and seems to be impervious to any sort of attempt to mark it. The area around the spire practically crackles with magical energy, and the party has learned that the spire is a tremendously powerful arcane focus of some sort. It had lain dormant for the last thousand years since the end of the last age and colliding of the upper and lower realms. However, it has apparently recently been activated. The fey were also launching their raids from a portal on the spire that was accessed through a ruined temple, though they closed the portal when they were chased off by the party.

Loose Ends:
1. Fallow and the boys have yet to be found. They were last known to be heading to the spire as Robert Fallow was excited about examining it. He had recently received a book from an eladrin bookseller from White Harbor. Dwyer and Ailea both remarked about the effort gone into bringing a book all the way from White Harbor to Renwold. Fallow and the boys disappeared shortly before the raids began.

2. Who activated the spire? What does it do?

3. The missing villagers. They were taken to the Feywild as slaves, almost certainly to the slave city of Cormaline under the orders of Alessina.

4. Baathal. Demonic name inscribed on frost gem binding winter spirit to world.

Feywild:

The Feywild is a beautiful and savage reflection of the world. The party was teleported here by the release of magical energy upon their defeat of the fey spirit of winter that was projected into the world.

Locations:
Cormaline: City ruled by Alessina, the so-called Slave Queen. Great slaving operations are run out of Cormaline which traffic in slaves taken from the "lesser races" found in the natural world. The fey of Cormaline are strongly associated with the Court of Winter and view the races of the natural world as playthings and cheap labor.

Rose Cliffs: Rose Cliffs is a port city. It is politically moderate with no strong ties to any of the fey courts. It is loosely ruled by a council of eladrin, but is a generally chaotic and lawless place. While a dangerous place, Rose Cliffs has been known to harbor escaped slaves who can prove their worth or otherwise amuse the ruling council.

The Spire: The spire is located in exactly the same place in the Feywild as in the natural world and looks exactly the same, though the ground around it is different. Rather than being surrounded by a ruined city, it is surrounded by a thick forest and rugged hills.

Holwood: small gnome village in area near spire.

People:
Theirastra: an eladrin wizard who completed the ritual of binding that joined the tower of a fey wizard to the spire and used the magic from the spire to bind a winter spirit in the natural world. The presence of the spirit plunged the area around the spire in the natural world into an unnatural winter in the middle of spring until the party defeated the spirit and broke the binding. Theirastra was also the apparent leader of the fey raiding parties and is a lieutenant to Alessina.

Alessina: the Slave Queen. Known for her cruelty toward and hatred for the "lesser races" (non-Fey), she rules the city of Cormaline and keeps large numbers of slaves abducted from the natural world. Her name appears sporadically throughout ancient arcane tomes, though whether those references are to her or some other Alessina are unknown. In these tomes, Alessina is associated with Koliada, the winter witch, and the Prince of Frost himself.

Lep: a satyr rogue/bandit. He gave the party shelter for a night and was injured trying to defend the party after one of his men betrayed him and the party by leading a group of Alessina's hunters to the refuge. He was last seen trying to cover the party's tracks as they attempted to escape and then planned on leading the pursuers away from the party. Appeared to have a crush on Fate.

Arabel: an old eladrin woman who tired of life in Cormaline and removed herself to live as a hermit in the north near the spire. She is regarded as a wise woman and is reported to have knowledge of Fey Crossings.

Loose ends:
None so far (except maybe Lep)
