Question about doors in Wolph42's Bag of Tricks
Not sure this is the right place to ask about community additions to MapTool, or if it's just for MapTool itself. Please let me know and I'll correct.
I'm playing around with Wolph42's Bag of Tricks. I've got animated doors working on my map, all's well, except that I've realized I limited the door lever tokens too severely. I set them to range "1" thinking hero tokens could then see and click them from adjacent spaces, but when I try with an actual player logged in to my (LAN) server, he gets an error about not being close enough to use the lever, even when standing adjacent.
Is there a way to edit that property of an existing door lever token? Or properties in general on these tokens? Is there a way to re-open the initial pop up for a previously created door?
I originally set this value in the pop up window from the Set Door macro, but I can't find anywhere to modify it now that it's been created. The properties panel on the token appears to be blank (!) but I'm assuming that's on purpose as part of the Bag of Tricks functionality.
Windows 10 / MapTool 1.5.6 / BOT v43h, in case it matters.

Hi steve, I've moved your post to the appropriate section. I'm currently looking into your topic as it seems something is not quite right.
edit: ok checked it and it all works fine. Its fairly possible though that your doing something wrong.
- the proximity is calculated from the lever not the door!
- it only checks for PC tokens
- it checks ownership, the player must own the token next to it (or 'owned by all' is also ok).
Only if it confirms those parameters will it work!
to change the proximity, simply:
- delete the lever
- select the door
- click set door, and change the settings you want to change

Re: Wolph42's 'Drop-in' Bag of MT Tricks v.43j [EMBARKATION]
Very possible.
The token was adjacent to the lever, not the door, yes.
The token was a PC, and owned by the player.
When you say it checks ownership, do you mean the door lever token? The lever token needs to be owned by the player/owned by all?
I'm pretty sure I heard you say in your tutorials that the range was in grid units, right? My map is using 5 units per grid space as it's a D&D game I'm prepping for, but I thought "1" was still the appropriate range as I wanted it to work from 1 grid space away.
That may be my issue right there, and I was hoping to figure that out by editing the range to see what happened.
So simple! I infer from this that all the "serious logic" of these door macros is embedded in the lever token?
Re: Wolph42's 'Drop-in' Bag of MT Tricks v.43j [EMBARKATION]
good to hear its fixed. And no, IRC little is stored on the lever (proximity might be stored there), most stuff is stored on the door. However if you setup the door again a new lever is created, hence you need to delete the old one first

Re: Wolph42's 'Drop-in' Bag of MT Tricks v.44 [CoMPad 2]
NEW VERSION 45 1.5.14+ compatible (and earlier versions of 1.5)
Version 45
The new Features:
- Full overhaul of the whisperframe. It now supports languages, meaning you can send messages and only those who speak the language can understand the message. (that and other stuff)
- Added changeElevation and getRangedDistance macros. Further worked required to fully integrate, but they work. Elevation is now taken into account when using the invisibility functions.
Other changes are:
- fixed bug in ontokenmove with linked eventtriggers (these are created in lib:eventmacros and linked in the settings to the ontokenmove event)
- Also changed the naming for better understanding and added clarifying texts.
- fixed issue with resizing roofs when using the transparent roof option
- updated invisibility, need to check if it works.
- fixed macro buttons layout (removed the padding)
- fixed dicetool issue, but expect a LOT more issues due to newly introduced 'bug' in MT
- fixed switchmap issue I think 3x over
- removed [v40 history from this macro
- fixed idiot mistake in broadcast OCL (started manual when connecting to server)
- fixed division by zero bug in crowd control
- fixed all http links in the BoT (broken due to new topic or dropbox screwing things over)
- added additional argument to 'seekToken()' function to force json output

Love the work you do, and love the tutorials, only problem I can not hear you in them.
EDIT: The lib:OnTokenMove link produces a 404.

As for the tutorial, I do recall that there are one or two without voice over, but its says so in the comment.

It's not that I don't want to hear ya, I have to raise all my volumes to max. And then I can barely hear your voice. As for the tutorial, I do recall that there are one or two without voice over, but its says so in the comment.

ah ok... I don't think there's much I can change on that. I do test the tutorials on my pc and don't have that problem.BearFather wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2019 10:14 amIt's not that I don't want to hear ya, I have to raise all my volumes to max.
