I opened this to provide a space for people to share a bit more about their character if they wished. You can share as much or as little as you choose - I'm going to use it to provide some insight and flavor into my character. I hope you will enjoy it.

Moroi

Moroi's background is wraught with death, danger, and oddities. Born under the sign of the Magi, he was destined to be touched by magic in some form or another. Upon his birth, he was born with a caul over his eyes, one that needed to be removed by the midwife - a sign he was to be gifted with the 'second sight' or 'mind magic' as it was called in his village/clan.

At a young age, his mother took him aside and gave him a small, greyish stone - letting him know when he got older, the stone would lead him to answers. Answers to questions he could not have had at that age. The small greyish stone resides on a leather lanyard around his neck. What he does not know is that it is a piece of stone from the far Astral - where the Forgotten Gods lay dead - often used as floating living-space by the Astral Predators and Githyanki that reside there. Whether or not it is a piece of his long-forgotten ancestor is a question he's thought about a lot. What does it mean to be the heir to a god? Does it make him blessed, or cursed, and if he IS an heir, should he not have something to show for it? The child of a dead god (even a distant grandchild) should present in some manner as touched by the gods themselves - yet he shows nothing more than an affinity for psionics and a small grey pebble for his connection.

In his late twenties, Moroi was seduced by an Enchantress of sorts, drawn to her, taken into her embrace - and yet allowed to live. She did not drink his life-force or his desire and passion from him. Instead she used him like a playtoy, something to amuse her for a while. This isn't something that is known to others, but it may come up in conversation later in the game. It also gives some significant indication as to why he is disinterested in women as a 'lover'. He enjoys comraderie and intimacy, but has found that after such an experience, mortal women are unable to inspire him in romantic and deeply intimate ways. Why she allowed him to live is a question that haunts the man, even to this day - and in the back of his mind he believes she knew he was an Heir - though why she chose to let him live (and escape) has never left his mind. To escape her clutches, he had to provide another mortal male to take his place - which he holds as a deep-seated guilt, as he knows the man was likely slaughtered shortly after the Enchantress returned from her 'Devils-Dance'.

Moroi's acquisition of Mindrazor (Psionic + 3 Broadsword) is also a curious story. He was on a mission in [Censored] with [Censored] others, looking to overcome a small fringe group of Devil-Worshipping Priests from the [Censored] sect. The more he and his companions sought to hunt these priests, the further and further they were drawn underground, until the party was scattered in honeycombed caverns beneath the ruined city of [Censored]. After a couple of nights stumbling through the barely moss-lit caverns, he stumbled upon what appeared to be a ruined underground group of dwellings. Like a small town of sorts. The buildings were covered with reddish dust and blind, white scorpions and spiders, using tremor-sense to find their prey. As Moroi searched the place for food and water, he came upon a dwelling that appeared to be in good (for the area) working condition, and appeared to be lived in. Outside the door of the dwelling was a large amount of odd-smelling, greenish colored moss and a few humanoid body-parts in various stages of decomposition. Drawing a long, serrated blade, the Battlemind slipped into the dwelling, only to come face-to-tentacles with a Mindflayer in the process of enchanting a couple of weapons.

The Mindflayer wasted no time in knocking Moroi unconcious with a controlled blast of psychic energy. When he awoke, a glowing broadsword was all that was left behind, with an odd symbol and ancient looking dark-script written in blood on the wall. He was unable to make out the words, but copied them down so as not to forget them. Thinking the blade was cursed - or a trick, he took it with him and had it examined by the Military Magi he knew. When they cleared the weapon as a 'spoil of war' for him, he strapped it on and never looked back - yet, like the other two odd experiences in his life - he is unsure how or why the situation ended the way it did, especially as he knew very well that Mindflayers love consuming psionic or magically active creatures' brains. He was left alive, and gifted a unique sword along the way, yet the reason is completely unknown.

Mindrazor is a psionically active broadsword - feeding off the emotions of the wielder and channeling them into enemies with devasating effect. When delivering a particularly vicious blow the weapon emits a telepathic, inhuman-sounding howl of delight, audible to those within hearing range. The weapon is ringed with illusory purple shards that flow in and out of sight, offering a slight purple glow. Words are carved into the blade in Deep Speech, also faintly glowing, though these are a dark brackish red in color.

The rumors surrounding Masoom Erumat are wild, varied, and rarely denied (but probably embellished) by the man himself. The one aspect they all agree on is that he's served under several buccaneers, raiding elven shipping lanes since he was in his teens. Is his strange coloring due to birth or accident? Is he a swordsman or a mage? Is he a ruthless bandit or a chivalrous swashbuckler? Did he escape a deserted island by swimming all the way back? Did he steal a noble's daughter by flying away with her? Did he die several years ago, or is he still alive, either plying the shipping lanes in disguise or searching the far corners of the world for something lost? Masoom regards them all with a laugh and a smile.

He never explains how he got into raiding in the first place, or any personal grudges he might have.
