could you send me *that* campaign file?
the link you gave loads on a map called 'hightower' and there are only two interDrop tokens (one way interpad tokens) and as this is the 'drop' side there are no *real* interpad tokens on this map to test. Which makes me assume that you used another campaign file where you encountered this issue.

edit: just to note: with the map you send me I cannot recreate the stack overflow issues. I've using b87 and java 7 both with stack 4 and 10 first moving a token onto the droppad (which is a bit silly as its only a place holder, I could as well move it anywhere else) and then swapped maps to limbo where there actually IS a working pad: interJumpPad and moved a new token onto that one, which resulted in a normal teleport.

The campaign I posted is in fact the campaign I was having trouble with. There should be three interjump pads in limbo that link to interdrop pads in hightower.

I'm not sure what to tell ya.

Are you sure its loading with Java 7? Did you uninstall java 6 before trying this? That might make a difference.

DeadJim, I have another question: When editing a character, there doesn't seem to be a place to specify a class and all tokens I create have something about a Cleric in their character sheet.

There is also a spot for healing surges which I thought were part of 4E. Am I adding tokens incorrectly? To summarize, am I missing something here?

Well it does not match you description. If *I* load your campaign I do not start on limbo but another map (this is set in the start up tools by the way) and if I go to limbo there are NO existing tokens there.
This does not match:
Ristora wrote:At one point I noticed that if I loaded my campaign and the first thing I did was move an extant token onto a map pad then I would get the overflow error without fail. However, I could sometimes avoid the overflow error if I moved my token to a non-pad place on the grid and *then* moved the token on to the pad, then it would work....sometimes. Also, if I got one overflow error when moving a token, I would not be able to move that token anywhere without getting an error with every move. When this happened, pretty much nothing would work unless I restarted maptool.

I will post my campaign file and you can load it up in Java 7, and assuming the problem wasn't my computer, you will run into overflow problems soon enough. I recommend trying any macros that intuitively seem to have a lot of calculation to do because this seemed to be a commonality among the majority of the errors.

As far as my settings are concerned, I was definitely getting tons of errors when I had a Stack Size of 10. 4 only helped marginally until I changed to java 6. Min memory was at 64 and max at 2048.

I'll continue to check back to see if you have more questions.

Campaign File: A_Dark_and_Stormy_Knight.cmpgn - 26.0 MB

So either you description is off or the campaign file is wrong.

I see what the problem is here. As I've changed the campaign I've been overwriting the original campaign file. From my perspective it was the same campaign file but I understand how it is also technically a different campaign file.

In any case, I don't have old versions of the campaign file I posted.

Yes, in order to be able to replicate we need an as accurate as possible situation. If you manage to recreate it in another fashion then pls let us know, as it will help the devs in ironing out the issues.

In reference to your question about the tokens, you're creating them correctly. The famework doesn't currently support any way of tracking classes and the section about the healing surges and channels is for use if you have the class abilities. It just allows the respective macros to run correctly. As far as healing surges, I'm not really sure why they're there but hey, no harm for including them.

Um, none of my pads are working. I was using the bag of tricks alone and then decided to try this. I replaced all of the pads in case there were any changes but they still don'y work.
here is the debug result after initializing the pads:

Have you checked ALL the issues in the BoT post? In the OP ere is an issues part that you should check. If its none of those then let me know and post your campaign.

Out of curiosity, what abilities and feats are you trying to add? I've found that most things don't actually need an active macro in order to work with the framework.

Hello, just a quick question:
If I am going to use this frameworks soley for PF and not 3.5 what tokens/maps/macros can I safely remove/delete? I am building a rather large campaign, and would like to be able to slim the file as much as possible, thanks in advance.

Also: This is an awesome framework!

Macros regarding gold/merchants

Post by kyrillos27 »

Hello, and happy thanksgiving

I was wondering if there is a way to create something like a merchant for a campaign that I'm creating. Specifically, a player clicks on inventory on the merchant's token, which lists a longsword for 15gp, then click on the macro that subtracts the 15 gold pieces from their inventory. I am using the 3.5 rules, specifically.

Adding that longsword to the inventory would be the next request. We can add it as a weapon ourselves manually. But the gold being accounted as well as whichever good (any type, armor, jewel, ect.) being accounted for in the inventory. Selling the item is another issue... maybe another issue at another time, perhaps?

Then finally, if i could look at the macro and understand it, that would be the biggest help.

Thank you
