[patch] Input dialog height

The tab selectors of an input dialog add to the overall height of the dialog window. As a consequence, when having too many lines of tab selectors, the dialog might exceed the screen height.

The attached patch adds a workaround for the problem. This is not a clean fix. (Not by my standards, anyway.) I also remove some lines that attempted to fix the issue but are ignored.
