Re: [Nerps!] MapTool Fork based on 1.4.1.x
Hey, so I found a bug with the Initiative frame in Maptools 1.4.4.2 Nerps. I made a recording showing it off so you can see the issue. https://youtu.be/5YWGMc5pY4c
It involves each client's initiative frame to be individualized rather than connected. (Not sure how best to describe it, so we're going with that.)

Do you have the following option checked?
Tokens "sync" when you move or change them, but also "sync" via initiative panel. If the token is very large (lots of data) it can cause network lag. Since usually panel is for GM use the sync may not be necessary.
*Note: This is/was sort of a hack/fix/test. The option will probably be removed in a future update.

It was unchecked at the time; however, I just tested it with it checked and I am still getting the same result.

When i have that option checked the initiative window is updated when the gm changes the initiative but not when a player changes the initiative.Do you have the following option checked?
no, actually it works now. evidently every client has to have that option checked... when that is done the initiative window updates nicely.

I did restart the server, but not the client. Restarting the client fixed the issue, thanks.

Re: [Nerps!] MapTool Fork based on 1.4.1.x
It's been a while since I enabled that so thanks for the updates! I think I forgot the sync is 'per' client but that makes 100% sense (it is a client "Application" setting so ya).
Glad you got it working, sorry for the confusion. That init panel needs a rework as it is....

Yeah, no problem. Also with the Java 9 update I no longer have issues with the draw tool, so that works perfectly fine now.

Re: [Nerps!] MapTool Fork based on 1.4.1.x
Hey, so I just stumbled upon this youtube video that you posted up in regards to raycasting lightsources: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBDtMa7uk90.
I saw demos of Roll20 light sources doing this and was really hoping this could be a possibility in MT some day. I'm not familiar with StraightEdge, so I was curious to know more about this feature. Is this something that works or will work in your fork?
Also, I've seen videos showing Roll20 using FoW that feathers out at the edges. Is that somewhat related to raycasting? Have you ever done any tests to see if MT could eventually move away from hard edge FoW and use feathered edges?

Re: [Nerps!] MapTool Fork based on 1.4.1.x
I've tested a few other things like Box2Dlights and such as well. At the end of the day, I really just want to leave it for when we update the UI and redo the render engine. There's just only so many hours in a day and something like this, although I really want to get in, is really only a "replacement" and upgrade to the looks vs new feature so sits a little lower on my priority.
I still poke around in our VBL system and recently found a tweak to get some performance improvements out of it so it's never "dead" in my mind, just, on the bench.

FYI: 1.4.5.2 release -> https://github.com/JamzTheMan/MapTool/r ... ag/1.4.5.2
Tweaked the AI movement so it's a little more like the original movement in terms of straighter lines through open areas.
