Agreed, if it has a tendency to be used for combat reasons. But there could be some Skill Challenge uses for it too. That's my main point.

But really the main concern that I see is in social areas. Social Skill Challenges are a fairly common paradigm for them, and we are going to fail miserably if we do them by the book. I suppose we'll just be fighting a lot. :)

Well, we are a group of Bounty Hunters and Prisoner Transportation Specialists. That doesn't strike me as the most diplomatic of groups. We're RollPlaying and we haven't even started!

I have yet to meet a problem that couldn't be solved with hitting it until it stops moving.

Heh. That's all cool.

I have Jurash trained in Diplomacy, but he won't be one to talk his way out of a fight. He's all about honor and prowess in combat. His Diplomacy will come through in more overtly social situations, like trying to convince a magistrate or sheriff to give us some info on a fugitive or something like that.

As long has he understand the occasional need for prison breaks.

Heh, I picked up Arcana/History/Religion since they're int skills and thats a wizard's strength. The fourth skill I wasn't really sure on. I grabbed insight, thinking it might be a bit helpful in conversations (since I can't really take any other convo skills with -1 cha mod) and come up in other skill challenges too. I could drop it for Nature and get an 8, which is pretty decent for foraging. What do you guys think?

As far as physical challenges, my wizard won't be THAT bad. I can't pick up training in endurance/athletics, but due to stats and racial bonus I start with 3/3.

His conversation skills will be terrible though, which fits with his background of being a prisoner most of his life. His knowledge about the world is mostly from reading books while imprisoned.

I think skill challenges we all just kinda stand there silent and let Jurash do all the talking.

I think Insight is decent, Paul. It can be useful in social challenges, usually to give bonuses to others. Your knowledge skills are useful as well. I think your picks are good.

So I'm thinking about changing my PC to a runepriest. I've never played one, and to be honest I haven't liked the idea of them. But given the changes to dwarf and that we are playing in Eberron, I could see making a cool Kundarak dwarf who is doing some work with Deneith. It would be a change of pace, since I've already played a warlord before. I'd also add a little more spunk to the fighter defender in the group, as well as do some damage buffing.

Thoughts? I know it would probably change the Q'barra PCs' backgrounds as my dragonborn was the impetus for it.

Do what you want. In my desire to continue being a pain I may switch to another class. I went to a dnd event this weekend and got a chance to try out my build twice... and pretty much I was fairly unimpressed. If there a metric tons of free attacks going around its pretty awesome. Otherwise it is it was pretty mediocre.

That you did. I guess I'll wait for Primal power 2 and then give it another shot.

Mind you it wasn't all bad. I kicked major butt on sat.... I would just need to have a 2 warlords (one who specializes it solely granting basic attacks) and have the rest of the group not have decent basic attacks.
