You save them as PNG files though there is probably a setting in Photoshop that says to preserve transparency. I use Gimp so can't help you with the specific setting.

When saving images that have a transparent area around them use whatever the feature in Photoshop is called that allows you to automatically crop away the unneeded portions while preserving the drop shadow.
Photoshop 5.5 is pretty old. I don't remember what its PNG support was like. Modern versions do let you preserve transparency, but only as a PNG-24. PNG-8 does support transparency, but not through native Photoshop controls.

The command you are looking for is Trim. You have the option to trim away surrounding fully transparent pixels, while preserving drop shadow, glows and the like.

Here is a pit trap that I made. It fits right on top of the tiles I created. Thank you KeithCurtis for the assistance... I used the option to "Save to Web" and it was set on PNG 8, so I switched it to PNG 24. Awesome. This pit was just a trial, but I plan on making some spike pits (possibly with impaled corpses, etc.). Give me more ideas for this kind of thing. I am having loads of fun making these since I am still looking for a group to play with online.

Here is another style of dungeon... do you think it would look ok the way the walls are? I mean if they were next to each other? It would make it easy to create doors and wall decor with this style.

I haven't made any corner pieces yet, just curious on your thoughts.

Hey Keithcurtis... were you ever an instructor at ITT in Tampa, Fl? Your sketch reminds me of an instructor I had there and his name was Keith... Anyways, thanks for the tips

Here is a door that can be dropped in on this tile. Let me know what you think.

That's pretty cool. Makes me want to re-do the wall tiles in my tileset.

Mazerik, I really like the style of those perspective walls. And the thickness would work well towards a VBL issue that we're having with our current tileset. Very cool! And I like the concept of just dropping a door onto a wall, instead of building a doorway, etc.

Keep 'em up. I'm going to yoink stuff from your gallery now!

wow, I am glad you guys liked them. I stopped working on them for a little while because I wasn't getting much feedback. I really liked the way it would work as far as being able to show wall hangings, doors and other things. The perspective isn't completely perfect as a whole, but not bad room by room. I tried one with true perspective, but it was very difficult to maintain. Here are some other ones I have been working on. Let me know what you guys think. I will concentrate more on the ones that get the most feedback. Go to this website for more, including end cap pieces.

though I haven't created any regular doors for this yet, I did make a secret door. You can place it on top of one of the walls and make it visible to the players if they find it.

Thanks for the comments you guys. I can't seem to make my mind up. I did this one because it combined elements from two of the other styles I used. Let me know what you think.

Try making the stones a little bigger in that last wall. That would be a lot of work to build a wall that way, unless they built the flat wall and then backfilled behind the wall I guess.

Mazerik, these are excellent. My favourites so far are the set with the secret door. Although the first set with the perspective looks good it could be difficult to make a full tileset (says me who hasn't even attempted anything like this!),

keep up the good work

Wow. Those are great. Do you have them in a central repository or in a zip file?
