Phantom Lighting
It seems like tokens can sometimes create phantom lighting, where moving the token will light the new area, but will not dim back the old area. For example, on attached screenshot, I moved Token A up, but previous position still stayed lit.
I've played with this a bit and I found pretty reliable way to reproduce it:
1. Open MapTool with everything default (After all preferences reset)
2. Enable Fog of War
3. Enable Day Vision
4. Add token to the map (Token A)
5. Add normal sight to that token
6. Expose visible area for that token (Ctrl + I)
7. Switch vision to Night
8. Give token D20 Candle light source
9. Copy paste that token (into Token B)
10. Switch to Player View
11. Select Token B - map will blank out
12. Select Token A again (it is kinda hard with map all black, but try)
13. Move token A to new spot
14. If the bug does not happen, repeat steps 11-13 until it happens.
I've reproduced this on Windows with MapTool 1.4.1.8

Re: Phantom Lighting
I've noticed vision in general is not updated until a token is moved or the tokens vision is manually exposed. I know there is a task to fix that known by the devs already. This seems like it's related. If you move the token is the light source updated?

Re: Phantom Lighting
Moving the token again will not update the lighting, it will leave phantom lighting there. But it will not create additional fake circles.
What will fix is switching vision to either GM view (by unselecting Token A) or by switching vision to Token B view (by selecting Token B). See attached gif.

Re: Phantom Lighting
What happens, after moving tokenA, when you move tokenB. Does the light correct itself? But, yeah. Definitely something that needs to be fixed.

Re: Phantom Lighting
Check the gif. The moment I click on Token B, it corrects itself.
Re: Phantom Lighting
Well, everything goes black because no FoW was revealed for token B because it's vision wasn't updated because it was never moved (which is the bug that is known). If you start a server and then start another instance as a player where you're the owner of token A, but not token B the light source should only move with your token and not leave that original starting light.

Re: Phantom Lighting
I've tried it now by exposing surrounding area to Token B (Ctrl + I).
Phantom lighting also disappears when clicking on Token B, even when screen does not go black.

Re: Phantom Lighting
That does seem familiar and have a few bugs with lighting/vbl/fow with all the changes I've done over the last year or two.
I don't have time right now to look into it but hopefully that is fixed in my Fork (which will be merged back eventually). Feel free to test with Nerps and let me know? (link in my sig)

Re: Phantom Lighting
I've checked and bug does not appear to happen with your fork.

Re: Phantom Lighting
Thanks, this will probably be fixed in the next dev release then.
