MT 1.3b62 Progress

Post by trevor »

I apologize for the delay, started up my new position, Lots to get caught up on.

I've received a spanish translation update, and will be removing the boot code, but that should be the only changes for b62, and hopefully call 1.2 "done".

I've got several patches just itching to be put in, and still lots of bugs to fix, but I think 1.3 is long overdue, and people are used to it's current quirks, so I think it's time.

We'll be changing the way releases are done, and don't expect to ever get into the b20s again without a stable release.

I am entirely comfortable with b62 being final.

Agreed.

Can't wait to see the sledgehammer hit for 1.4 !!! Can't wait for that "Put Me in the Map!" button to be functional.

Yes. Unless there's a _critical_ show stopper, that'll be the final version.

Even though the bug list is still high, the intention is to make official releases more frequently, on the order of a few months, so the release version will be what we've been using "stable dev" versions as for the past year or two and will get bug fixes much faster.

So it sounds like the plan is to have earlier "feature freezes" and try to bust out stable releases more frequently as a result.

Most definitive test I can see.
Put it out, wait a week, and see if anything crops up.
If not, stamp it done and then take the holiday season off.
