MapTool 1.3 Development Build 63

Post by trevor »

The "Let's get stable" build

This build includes language translation updates and specifically a fix for the disconnect lockup issues we've seen since b60(ish).

Build 63 (12/17/09)
* Fix bug: server locks up when player disconnects unexpectedly
* Fix bug: typo in error UPnP error message (Azhrei)
* Update Spanish translation (Patricio)
* Update French translation (Pierre)
* Update German translation (aPown)

Please be sure to post back any issues you have with networking lockups

Special thanks to the translators, and those that helped isolate the networking locking issue!

well... one step closer to closure 8)

Just curious, will the last 1.3b6x (I hope I can assume that its 6x, not xx) be the 'stable release' or will that be the 1.4? Or will the 1.4 ed. be the first one again with new fluff 'n stuff?

I believe that the convention is, when there's a stable development build, to decide "This is it - we now have an official MapTool 1.3" to be released. So it would be MapTool 1.3, and the next cycle would start with 1.4.b1, or something like that.

Apparently the german translation has an issue with the filename casing, so I'll probably be making a b64 to fix it, so send me your translation file and I'll put it in too

I have tried using the last 3 builds and I have the same issues.

The screen redomly goes black, The menu bar becomes inactive and the chat window can disappear if undocked. I have not been able to find what steps cause these to happen otherwise I would give a full bug report.

Other than that it works great.... too bad those 3 things just about kill any thoughts of being able to use it.

Oh and did I mention I am running windows 7. 8)
Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Some of that sounds like video driver issues (black screens, etc.). The docking thing, though, I dunno.

Probably not; I've been running MT on Windows 7 for a while now and haven't had any issues. 'course, that's just one data point.

Make that 2 data points, Rumble - I haven't seen that sort of behavior either. I agree that it sounds more like a video driver issue.

I have the same problem in Windows 7 but I am quite sure I have to blame the OS and the Java integration and not RPTools. Important note, I work on a dual screen configuration; before moving to W7 I had no issues at all.
