VBL not drawing?

VBL not drawing?
I loaded a graphic, not large like 2.9MB, and when I try to to use the VBL tools, it doesn't draw. Like I try to draw out an area (rect, circle, whatever) and I don't see the boundaries on the graphic. It doesn't *seem* like this is a mem issue. Any ideas?

Welp. I guess we file this under learning curve. While I was experimenting, it seems I unselected "Draw Wall" and did not realize the consequence of that.
I reply here to both as penance and as a cautionary tale to other newbies.
