Hi, Every time I try to connect I get the pop up:
Could not load campaign.
java.net.ConnectExcaption: Connection timed out: connect
I tried several things, including making sure it was allowed through the fire wall, reinstalling java.... I've been reading older comments that were sent several years ago which it might be an issue with port forwarding?
I have an centurylink c3000z, with Windows 11. I know how to get into port forwarding but once there I am confused on what information to enter. I can enter my ip address fine, what Im confused about is the starting and ending points.
not sure if this still is common or if there is a simple fix for this. Thanks for the help.

In order for port forwarding to work, you have to have an IP that doesn't change each time you boot up. Different routers call it different things but it basically is "reserves" the ip for your MAC address. Once that's established, then set the IP, use 51234 for both starting and ending range. Protocols should be TCP/UDP/Both.. choose Both.

The person running the server needs to use port forwarding.
You only need to accept the firewall exceptions that MT asks of you when you first load it. Nothing more.I tried several things, including making sure it was allowed through the fire wall
MT has it's of packaged Java. Do not install another java version unless you need it for something else. It can actually cause problems.reinstalling java
Port forwarding is for the person running the MT server that you (a client) tried to connect to..... I've been reading older comments that were sent several years ago which it might be an issue with port forwarding?
If they go to canyouseeme.org and put in the address/port they are using for their server and it comes back that they "can't be seen" they need to do portforwarding.
FYI, they should just try starting a server with the UPnP box checked first though. That will open the ports automatically if they router is compatible with MT's UPnP library.
