How do i resize objects?

How do i resize objects?
I'm new to Maptool and so far i've had a fairly easy time, but now im trying to place an image as an object on my map. I get it into the layer, i can move it, but i can't seem to resize it. I set the object to freesize, and try and click and drag EVERY part of it, including the box in the bottom right that appears to be for such a purpose. But nothing. When i grab the box, it just does nothing at all. Can someone please help?

Which version of MapTool. Normally shouldn't be an issue if you see the box. Could be a bug or a bad install of program.

Ill try to reinstall my maptool (maybe to an earlier version) and see if that corrects the issue
